A lot of people have been sending me notes telling me things like "good luck" and "hope this works out for you".
I'd like to thank them for their support. So far everything has been going well. Every question I've ever asked has been answered and I couldn't ask for anything more.
dA already provides ways to recognize artists in our online community by providing daily deviations, interviews, and other awards designed to direct viewer traffic. While all these promotional devices are great for the artists publicity, I feel they tend to neglect the "how-to" process behind an artist's success.
Asking an artist to explain themselves requires a strategy, I feel, since these are people who are successful at creating illusions. For example, its one thing for an artist to say he holds on to tradition by painting in a fashion of a long decased and famous artist. He's likely to believe this himself and so the audience has little choice but to take his word for it. But by asking questions about the process, the reader is able to judge for herself just how closely the artist is following that tradition.
We're not a publicity machine. We're not even a cog in the machine. We're just a coulpe of cyber-stalkers with an obsessive approach towards demystifying the art world.
If you'd like to help us out, send me a note and we'll talk. I ask that all applicants have a practical artistic background in whatever genre they want to cover. This not only ensures a more in depth interview, but it'll come in handy when you need to provide your own original cover art.
Finally I'd like to thank =reddoor for all her help with the cover art for the last two interviews and also asking such great questions in the ~haunt interview. She caught the concept of what I wanted with this little project and gave her 110%.
She also acted as judge for our icon contest which I'll let her get into.

Hello Everyone!
After I’m sure, much excitement, the results are in for the icon contest. They are all fabulous entries, and I was impressed by the work that was put into each one. Every piece had something I enjoyed about it, you folks made it hard to pick. But without further ado, I’m happy to announce = ForgottenSymmetry as our winner. I’d like to thank you all again for taking the time to compete, and do stay updated, as we plan to have more competitions in the near future.
Thanks Again!
